Recognizing the centrality of the Eucharist to our faith, all of CLSMD's major events include the celebration of the Mass. These include our participation in the annual Red Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul, our Advent and Lenten Reflection events, and the Bellanca-Jacobs Summer Family Picnic.
CLSMD also addresses some of the most complex, and challenging, issues of our time. In 2020, CLSMD opposed a proposed change to Michigan's Code of Judicial Conduct because of the threat it poses to First Amendment rights, including religious liberty. More recently, CLSMD publicly opposed Proposal 3, warning that this amendment to the Michigan Constitution could -- among many other effects -- allow abortion at any time, do away with informed consent requirements, and abolish conscience protections for hospitals and doctors who refuse to perform abortions.
Charitable works include volunteering for the Pope Francis Legal Aid Center at Sts. Peter and Paul and a twice-annual project at Focus Hope (with the Incorporated Society of Irish-American Lawyers).
